About Justin

Justin is a health and fitness professional passionate about helping people look, feel and perform at their best. He has over 10,000 hours of 1-2-1 coaching experience with every type of client ranging from elite athletes to celebrities to complete newcomers to fitness.

Justin has worked in elite sport with a variety of athletes including Premiership footballers, the European Ryder Cup team, Olympic athletes and other top British sports men and women from sports such as triathlon, kayaking, martial arts and water skiing.

In terms of professional credentials, Justin works at the heart of the fitness industry in his role as educator and assessor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and Performance Training Solutions (PTS). He also sits on the Medical Advisory Committee for the European Tour. Justin has trained in many disciplines including advanced personal training, injury rehabilitation, sports performance enhancement, nutritional therapy, lifestyle coaching and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).

From a media perspective, Justin has been health and fitness expert for BBC Radio 5 live. He has been interviewed by Sky News and Sky Sports News for his expertise on fitness and golf conditioning. He has been in Women & Golf magazine for his work with Michele Thomson, an up and coming female golfer who competed in the Curtis Cup in 2008. Michele has recently secured a place on the Ladies European Tour having successfully competed at Tour School.

Working at the hub of the fitness industry Justin has also been featured in the fitness industry press magazine Health Club Management, where he recently (August 2008) wrote an article with colleague Gill Harvey-Bush on how NLP and life coaching can help empower the 10 million or so gym members within the UK to become motivated and inspired into making fitness a regular part of their life.

Justin has also delivered numerous corporate workshops on health, nutrition, sleep, stress management and performance to blue-chip companies such as Accenture and large charities such as the British Heart Foundation.

Justin has written a book which takes a new approach to health and fitness called 'The Body You Want' (available shortly). It gives you a step-by-step programme to help you not only get the best out of your nutrition and fitness, but your mindset too. By following the various mindset exercises in the book you will be able to get motivated, stay motivated and by-pass the most common barriers that stop people getting the results they want -whether that's comfort eating, a poor self image or not knowing how to get back on track when 'stuff happens' and you fall off the fitness wagon.

'The Body You Want' gives you the missing link to success, which other books fail to describe or talk you through in detail - your mindset or goals. Your mind plays a vital role in making success achievable because unless you know where you are going how do you know how to get there.

The book is broken down into 3 clear sections - Mindset, Nutrition and Exercise.  The section on Mindset is clear and easy to follow helping you create a very positive state of mind. The Nutrition section is full of information which makes perfect sense and includes a 3 phase nutrition plan:

Phase 1 -The Naked Nutrition Phase (referred to in the Woman article as 'The Naked Nutrition Diet' but it is not a 'diet')

Phase 2 - The Customise Phase

Phase 3 - The Maintenance Phase

Finally there is a very comprehensive Exercise section which makes those training exercises so much clearer and is aimed at all levels of fitness.
