"Dwelling on the negative simply contributes to its power." - Shirley Maclaine
ITV1 - a 10 part series that was shown daily.

Gill first appeared in the Academy on day 4 of the 10 days.

In Kyle’s Academy, Jeremy Kyle gives five members of the public the opportunity to resolve the problems that have been blighting their lives. They live together for two weeks and a team of experts are on hand to help them.

Gill is one of the experts in the show who demonstrates her skills as a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and as a diagnostic therapist in Thought Field Therapy (TFT) to help people overcome their problems.

In the programme Gill works with Donna, 36, who suffers from panic attacks, has a phobia of taking any form of medication and cannot even take a paracetamol. A range of experts work with Donna. Gill uses both TFT and NLP to help Donna. “Donna has a young son and desperately wants to get over these fears for his sake,” she says. “When I first met Donna, I was holding a packet of paracetamol and she immediately moved away from me, which showed the level of her phobia. By the end of the series, it’s a different story.” Click on the screen below to see Gill working with Donna

The challenge for Craig, 20, is to control his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and depression. He is virtually illiterate and has never worked in his life. He wants to work and to be able to support his children – he has a four year old daughter and his current girlfriend is expecting his child.

Gill says: “I worked on his anxiety of travelling on public transport. I again used a combination of TFT and NLP with him and helped him consider his OCD as a positive in his life, rather than a negative. By the end of the show Craig has travelled in a helicopter and is a different individual.”
